Destination Pre-Wedding Session in Venice, Italy

“To build a city where it is impossible to build a city is madness in itself, but to build there one of the most elegant and grandest of cities is the madness of genius.” ~ Alexander Herzen

I love the quote above by Alexander Herzen. Venice, Italy is truly an anomaly: so ancient, mysterious, seemingly impossible, yet incredibly beautiful and sacred. I love Italy in general for the warm climate, colors, and people. But Venice? A total gem.

Sherrilyn and Vincent, both Jakarta residents, love visiting the whimsy of Europe for holiday trips. Prior to their wedding in Bali, they decided to enjoy one last trip to the sights of Italy for a pre-wedding / engagement session and I could not have been more thrilled to capture their love. We began our session along the canal as Sherrilyn wowed in a delicate, yet dramatic white gown with a beautiful train. We sailed on a Gondola (that is a rite of passage in Venice, is it not?), enjoyed a little treat of Gelato of course, and found ourselves marveling at the beauty of San Marco Piazza. One of my favorite images is a sweet little girl watching as the two shared a kiss… so endearing!

The next morning, we arose early for some sunrise photographs around the city. Sherrilyn wore a dashing red gown and Vincent looked dapper in a classic grey suit. I loved the contrast of the deep crimson tone against the cool stone colors in the city itself. Everywhere we went, others were enchanted by Sherrilyn and Vincent!

I absolutely adore Venice, Italy and am beyond excited to share with you this stunning session…
