Planning a Wedding on the Amalfi Coast

I was recently invited by Ksenia Ridolfi Weddings to photograph the decor of an intimate wedding welcome dinner set up at Hotel Caruso Belmond in Ravello, followed by the wedding held the next day at the enchanting Villa Cimbrone. As a photographer, I am constantly in awe of the breathtaking beauty that is the Amalfi Coast – the golden sun-kissed landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and rugged cliffs provide an idyllic backdrop for couples looking to exchange vows in a dreamy and romantic atmosphere.

Planning a wedding in such an enchanting location requires careful consideration and attention to detail. From venues to vendors, there is so much to consider once you decide to host your wedding on the Amalfi Coast. So today, I thought I would offer a few insights to guide you through the journey.

The Amalfi Coast offers a plethora of wedding venues that cater to various tastes and preferences. From historic cliffside villas to luxurious beachfront hotels, there's something for everyone.

For this wedding, it was all about Ravello. Perched high on the cliffs, this hilltop town is renowned for its panoramic terraces that offer spellbinding views of the coast. It is a smaller, less-known destination that captures the hearts of anyone who visits.

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Italian town, the historic Villa Cimbrone and Belmond Hotel Caruso stand tall, each boasting breathtakingly unique and romantic views. The Villa's Terrace of Infinity offers a stunning panoramic view of the Amalfi Coast that will leave you in awe, while the Caruso's majestic hilltop setting provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills and coastline.

Italian cuisine is a symphony of flavors, and the Amalfi Coast is a culinary haven. From fresh seafood caught from the Tyrrhenian Sea to fragrant lemons harvested from local groves, the cuisine of the Amalfi Coast is a true gastronomic journey. You can choose to have a buffet-style meal, a plated dinner, or a combination of both. Most venues will offer a carefully curated menu that showcases the best of local produce and traditional Italian delicacies.

If there is something else that The Amalfi Coast is known for – it is its timeless, unique style. Infusing this Italian flair into your wedding details can add an extra touch of elegance, and a nod to the local region. Opt for delicate yellow accents in your floral arrangements or other decor pieces, choose locally crafted ceramics for your table settings, and incorporate Mediterranean-inspired colors like aquamarine and coral into your wedding palette.

Planning a wedding on the Amalfi Coast is a true labor of love – a place where history and beauty intertwine, creating a visual feast that I am privileged to capture as a photographer. Ksenia’s keen eye for detail and impeccable planning make for a seamless, stress-free day from start to finish. With inspiring venue options, fabulous cuisine, and exceptional wedding planners and vendors, I truly believe it is one of the best places on earth to begin your lifetime of love.
