Luxe Navy and Pink Wedding at Schloss Fuschl in Austria

What an honor it was to photograph Dawn and Bernd’s remarkable three-day wedding celebration in beautiful Austria alongside famed wedding planner Doreen Winking! Lovely Dawn and Bernd both live and work in Singapore, but because Bernd’s family is from Germany, they decided to wed at legendary Schloss Fuschl in Austria. The entire wedding weekend was filled with luxury, fun, and so many couture fashion choices but what made this weekend so memorable to me was the deeply loving family connection, bringing a few different cultures together for one big celebration! Dawn’s dresses were incredibly beautiful and below you’ll read how long (or how quickly) her dress shopping experience was. Before I hand it off to the newlywed Dawn herself, I just have to say it was truly a spectacular event and I loved every minute of it…

From the bride: “We wanted to have an intimate lakeside wedding with just our close friends and family. It should be somewhere spectacular in terms of scenery and with exquisite food (to satisfy the Asian side of the wedding guests who tend to have an obsession about food and fine music (hence Austria). As my husband grew up in Rosenheim which is just 30 minutes away from the Austrian Border, Schloss Fuschl was the perfect spot for his friends and family in Germany and for our international guests and family who flew in from Singapore, United States, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Philippines and also other parts of Europe.

Décor and colour scheme was Castle Chic with summer cheeriness . Navy Blue for the Groom and his groomsmen and corals and pink for the bridemaids and wedding flowers. We wanted the outfits in the same fabric for the bridal party but with different styles to reflect the individual personality of each person within the bridal party.

Wedding dresses: both chosen within an hour! The one which I wore for church was an off shoulder mermaid dress with really beautiful lace from Pronovias. I wanted something that was both feminine and conservative enough for church but yet sexy :) For the evening wedding dress , it was something really sexy from Enzoani with a super glamorous and gorgeous train fit for a castle and princess without it being too girly... Both dresses really spoke to the different aspects of my personality and I paired them with shoes from Alaia (day) and Jimmy Choo.

Bernd and I met through work. We are both lawyers but we hardly ever disagree with each other! (can you believe it?). Best part of our relationship. We can talk about anything under the sun, share the same values, intuitively understand each other and how to manage the other person and we help each other become a better person. There is no other person we would want to grow old with.”
