What a dream.

This beautiful, dreamy, and sensationally luxe destination wedding in both Jakarta AND Bangkok takes the cake. The bride is a talented event stylist and you can tell from her incredible taste and impeccable details. I was honored to capture this couple and their most cherished family and friends.

We began the wedding day in Jakarta, the couple's hometown, at Stella Maris Catholic Church which is where they attend church when they are home. The massive arches and beautiful detailing only seemed fitting for such a grand event! From there, we actually took a flight to Bangkok at the prestigious Shangri-La Bangkok to start the evening. After a meaningful Tea Ceremony, we boarded the Royal Princess Chao Phraya Cruise for their black tie dinner cruise reception. The women all wore white and ivory and the men all had bowties on - this detail made the evening feel nostalgic and I loved the formality of it all.

From the bride: "The road leading to our wedding.  Mike and I were childhood friends, I know Mike since I was 5 years old and we didn't start our relationship until we met again in Bali 5 years ago. I was working between Bali and LA and Mike proposed to me on Christmas eve 2016, which was like a Christmas present for me, it was really a wonderful time of the year in my life.  The wedding preparation was an amazing experience for us. Since I'm working as a wedding stylist in an event company, I know the kind of dream wedding that I always wanted.  Mike and I love to travel to many countries and so we decided to have a wedding destination theme.  

One of our favorite country is Thailand, we love their cultures and foods.  The River in Bangkok flows across the city with the beautiful views of the city when cruising on the river.  We thought what better more than to have our dinner reception cruising the Chao Phraya River while looking at the beautiful city.  We opt to have a black tie dinner party for our theme to keep the setting very traditional; a Vintage Elegance wedding with whimsical floral decoration.  Our black tie dinner comes with a twist, the ladies have to wear only white dresses and the men in suits but only bow ties can be worn.  We did this to have the classic look of a dinner party like in the old days where the pictures were still black and white prints.  Dina loves flowers so much, for the decoration on the boat she wanted an airy and natural feel like in the middle of a garden, so we decided to go with pale pink, sandy beige, and a touch of vintage gold for our wedding color theme.  In the meanwhile, for our wedding ceremony, Stella Maris Catholic church in our hometown Jakarta Indonesia was our first pick due to the classic ark architecture which connects to our cruise wedding theme, but of course it is the church we go for mass too when we are back to our hometown.

I always adore a heirloom concept, something old and classic.  I will prepare anything that will relate to it such as our wedding accessories, the writing needs to be in calligraphy styling too as this writing font goes back to the Roman Empire era, a very classic style.  For my wedding dress, I opt for a white french lace semi-ballgown dress inspired by the 60's era fashion and a classic mermaid style as my second dress.

The happiest and most memorable moment in our wedding day is when Mike and I were dancing to our favorite songs while the boat is moving, enjoying the night breeze, looking at the beautiful night view of the city with all the guests giving us the warmest hugs, laughs and wishes.  It was a magical night in our life."
